There is a natural desire to stay safe which shows up as nervousness when we're not sure what is ahead and when we have had past experiences that have seriously called that into question, either because they were traumatic or felt life threatening on some level, we move into a deeper fear manifesting as anxiety, and when the level of our anxiety becomes intense enough then we experience panic. Energetically a panic attack is a huge release of emotion in an attempt to survive the strength and depth of the fear felt in the moment.
The symptoms of anxiety and panic can show up as:
- hyperventilating or feeling short of breath
- heart palpitations or a racing heart
- chest pain and tightness like you are having a heart attack
- feeling like you are dying
- trembling or shaking
- tightness in the throat area as if you are choking
- disconnected from reality and your surroundings
- feeling overwhelmed and out of control
